Islamorada
Islamorada! Yes the Purple Island – so named by Spanish explorers due to the proliferation of purple Bougainvillea indigenous to the island. Islamorada is a 17 mile stretch of pure paradise in the beautiful Florida Keys. Spread out over six small islands, it’s a peaceful village and is known as the sport fishing capital of the world. Islamorada is one of the most sought after zip codes in the Keys. Celebrities and Presidents a like make Islamorada their relaxing home away from home. Besides the indescribable beauty, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do here such as water-sports, boating, fishing, diving and much more! Alligator Reef is one of my favorite spots and is considered one of the best diving and snorkeling locations in all the Florida Keys! Some of the best restaurants in the world are in Islamorada and we have chefs from around the world working here. Islamorada offers some of the Florida Keys most interesting bits of history, both on and off shore. However, the sport fishing is what draws the most visitors to the area. It’s a year round challenge in both off shore and back country fishing. Bring your boat, rent one or join a captain for a full or half day charter. You are sure to have a fish tale to take home.
